Desmond Brett Berkowitz is a qualified and practicing Certified Quantity Surveyor (CQS) and an Associate Member of The Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors.

Desmond Brett Berkowitz qualified with a Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying in January 1990. Desmond has had over 30 years' experience in the construction industry and is currently Director of Berkowitz and Associates Quantity Surveyors (BAQS), located in South Yarra, Melbourne.

Desmond has worked extensively on many large projects, most notably, heading up the Quantity Surveying team as Senior Cost Planner for the Spencer Street Station Redevelopment Project (Melbourne, Victoria) with a project value of approximately $400m and head project Quantity Surveyor for CH2 - Council House 2 (Client: City of Melbourne, Melbourne, Victoria – 6 Star Green Star Building). Recent appointments include assisting on the evaluation panel for the Queen Victoria Market redevelopment, together with various high profile City of Melbourne Capital Works projects. Recent residential projects include various high rise apartments and hotel buildings in Southbank and the Docklands

Our Quantity Surveying Specialists are allocated to various projects based on their expertise and understanding of the services required as well as the sector the project is in.

Most of our staff are registered members of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors. We consult Stakeholders, Developers and Investors, as well as Architects, Engineers and Project Managers to make sure our clients’ needs are met and expectations exceeded.
